Hussein Saffouri is a commercial trial lawyer focusing primarily on real estate litigation and land use issues. His clients include developers, commercial property owners and tenants, public agencies, property managers, lenders and wealth managers. He also has expertise handling partnership disputes where real property issues are involved.
In addition, Hussein’s practice includes representing high-tech clients in contract disputes. Hussein has developed expertise extending to copyright and trademark litigation and other matters relating to emerging and high-tech companies.
Hussein views his role as a problem-solver. He looks for imaginative solutions that can save his clients cost and time. As a result, in addition to his extensive litigation experience (including numerous arbitrations, court and jury trials and appeals), he also has experience working with clients on transactional matters to help them resolve problems before litigation arises; and he has developed special skill as a negotiator.
Hussein is licensed to practice law in the State of California and is admitted to all Federal District Courts in California and to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is also a trained mediator and is on the mediation panels of the Alameda County and the Sonoma County Superior Courts.
Before joining the Ramsey Law Group Hussein was with the firm of Hanson Bridgett for eleven years, and with the firm of Bartko, Zankel, Tarrant & Miller for three years before that.
Hussein has authored numerous articles on real estate issues, and given and moderated numerous programs on real estate litigation, landlord-tenant law, and boundary dispute resolution. His audiences have included property owners and managers, and title officers and other real estate professionals, as well as attorneys. Hussein has also held been an adjunct professor at UC Berkeley where he taught classes on modern legal practice, and has assisted with coaching the UC Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law mock trial team.
From 2003 to 2009, Hussein received the Wiley W. Manuel Award in recognition of his pro bono service with Legal Aid of Marin.
